What is the self-pay rate?

The self-pay rate is $120 per hour. First Steps Network is a non-profit and has to capability to do sliding scale rates; additionally First Steps is able to provide a super bill to your insurance for reimbursement. Please contact us for any specific questions regarding payment structures.

How will I know if the therapist is the right fit for me or my child?

Finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of successful counseling. Research consistently shows that a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the biggest predictors of positive outcomes in therapy.

Your first therapy appointment is an opportunity for both you and your therapist to determine whether you're a good fit. During this session, you'll discuss what brings you to counseling, your goals, and ask any questions you have about the therapist's approach and experience.

At First Steps, we understand that not every therapist is the right fit for every person—and that's okay. If it seems another clinician would better meet your needs, we'll gladly help you transfer to another therapist within our practice or provide referrals to trusted providers in the Cincinnati area. We want you or your child to receive the best care possible, even if that means connecting you with someone else.
